Relational, trauma-informed family therapy that gets to the heart of what’s really happening

For families navigating eating disorders, complex trauma, communication breakdowns, and the patterns that get passed down through generations — this is a space to heal together.

Something is happening in your family. Everyone feels it — but somewhere along the way, communication broke down and no one feels truly seen or heard.

Maybe it’s the arguments that keep circling back to the same place. The child who has shut down. The parent who doesn’t know how to reach them anymore. The tension that nobody names but everyone carries.

Family pain is rarely about one person or one moment. It’s almost always about patterns — ways of relating that developed over time, wounds that never quite healed, and communication styles that once made sense but no longer serve anyone.

At Strength & Healing, we don’t take sides. We slow things down, create space for every voice to be heard and validated, and help your family understand what’s really driving the disconnection — so you can build something new together. New ways of communicating. New ways of being with each other. A family dynamic that actually works for everyone in it.

It’s not about going back to the way things were. It’s about building something better — together.

every family has a story

We help you rewrite yours—with care.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being present, curious, and open to change.

Our approach is rooted in collaboration.

We don’t take sides—we help each member feel seen and supported. You’ll learn how to communicate in ways that stick, hold space for each other’s experiences, and problem-solve together without spiraling into conflict or silence.

Together, we will work on…

  • Identifying the patterns and cycles that keep pulling your family back to the same painful places
  • Creating space where every family member feels genuinely heard and validated — not just the loudest voice in the room
  • Understanding what’s driving conflict beneath the surface — the unmet needs, attachment wounds, and family of origin patterns at play
  • Building new ways of communicating that honor each person’s nervous system and emotional experience
  • Repairing ruptures and rebuilding trust — slowly, safely, and without blame
  • Supporting individual family members while also strengthening the family system as a whole
  • Navigating specific challenges like eating disorder recovery, trauma, blended family dynamics, parenting, or major life transitions

Do you only work with Eating Disorders & Trauma?

While eating disorders and trauma are core specialties at Strength & Healing, family therapy often sits at the heart of both. We work with families navigating eating disorder recovery, complex trauma, communication breakdowns, attachment wounds, and the patterns that get passed down through generations. You don’t need an eating disorder or trauma diagnosis to benefit from family therapy here — if your family is struggling, that’s enough.

We've tried talking about this before and nothing changes. What's going to be different this time?

This is one of the most common things we hear — and it makes complete sense. When families try to navigate difficult conversations on their own, old patterns tend to take over. Someone shuts down, someone escalates, someone says something they can’t take back, and nothing actually shifts.

Having a trained therapist in the room changes the dynamic in ways that are hard to replicate on your own. We create a structured, safe space where every person feels heard — not just the loudest voice in the room. We slow conversations down, help family members understand what’s happening beneath the surface for each other, and facilitate the kind of communication that actually leads to lasting change.

You’re not just talking in circles anymore. You’re working toward something — together, with someone who knows how to help you get there.

Let’s start untangling things together.

A calmer, more connected family life is waiting.
